Exercise 1: Requesting Gas from Attendant

Generally, the same variety of fuel used in the United States is available in the Philippines, and the English words are used.

In this exercise you will practice telling the attendant how much and what kind of gas you would like.

For example, if you hear “10 liters of Super“, you say, “Gusto ko ng sampung litrong Super.

Let’s begin.

20 liters of Regular
Gusto ko ng dalawampung litrong Regular.

5 liters of Diesel
Gusto ko ng limang litrong Diesel.

10 liters Unleaded
Gusto ko ng sampung litrong Unleaded.

15 liters of Super
Gusto ko ng labin-limang litrong Super.

Just as in English, you can drop “I would like” (Gusto ko) but “nga” or “nga ho” is normally added for politeness, as in “Diyes peso ng Regular nga ho.”

Exercise 2: Practice Requesting Pesos of Gasoline

If you hear for example, “10 pesos of Regular“, you say “Diyes pesos na Regular nga ho.

Are you ready?

20 pesos of Diesel
Beynte pesos na Diesel nga ho.
